Precinct Committee Persons are organized by precinct. Each voting precinct in Cherokee County is allowed to elect one man and one woman to serve as a PCP.
PCPs have a voice and vote in the party when we make decisions that affect our community such as electing county officers and choosing replacements for vacancies of elected Democratic officials.
The Cherokee County Democratic Central Committee (CC) includes elected officers and all elected or appointed Democratic Precinct Committee Persons (PCPs). The Central Committee (CC) is the governing body of the Cherokee County Democratic Party.
Of course you're qualified! And we need to cover every precinct in the county to have our voices heard. Answer these questions:
To be elected a PCP, you need to run for election during the Primary Election that is held during even-numbered years.: 2026, 2028. etc. Precinct Committeeman and Committeewoman OBTAINING FORMS The form for precinct committeemen and committeewomen is here or can be obtained by contacting the Cherokee County Election Office at

FILING LOCATION
PCP candidates may have their signatures attested by a notary public rather than the county election officer, but their declarations of intention must be filed with the county election officer. [KSA 25-206]
If a voting precinct does not have an elected PCP, the county chair may appoint appropriate persons to fill that vacancy between elections.
